Stranger Things Season 4 Release
One of the reasons why everybody loves Stranger Things is its perfectly accurate 80s retro aesthetics. We saw guys with mullets, boomboxes playing Joy Division and Eggo waffles. And from a strictly visual point of view, Stranger Things aesthetics not only pleased 80s fans around the world, but also contributed to creating hype around everything 80s.
The show went on air on Netflix for the first time on the 15th of July 2016 and soon became a worldwide phenomenon. Season after season, the fan base of the show kept increasing, and now we are all holding our breath for the release of the upcoming release of season 4 on 27th of May 2022.
All the characters we love are going to be there, fighting one more epic battle against the Mind Flayer. We are looking forward to seeing Eleven and Mike, but also Will, Dustin, Lucas and the whole ST family going through one more chapter of the saga that got us glued to our screens over the past few years.
As always, there are many rumours about what’s going to happen and how the fourth series will be. We know for sure that Netflix divided the show into two volumes, for a total of 9 episodes. The second part will go on air on 1st of July, and we’re happy to know that one of our favourite shows will be with us the whole summer. And of course there are plenty more rumours about how the plot will unfold.. but for that, we can only wait and see.
Retro 80s Aesthetics
Here at Indieground Design, we love the retro 80s aesthetics you can enjoy in the series (you might have noticed that by a few design resources in our store or by reading some more articles on our blog).
And that’s exactly what we love about Netflix’s show. Stranger Things offers a complete immersion in a cinematic setting done so well, that every time we watch an episode we forget this is a series produced this very year.
The music, the colours, the photography, and the general style are made to lift us up from our couches and throw us directly into the 80s. The visual impact of the series was registered all over the world, it gave a real push to reviving 80s retro appeal in graphic design. But its impact has moved beyond graphics, into illustration, cinema, fashion and advertising.
Stranger Things was an important input for us as well. We got inspired like everybody else and produced some graphic resources that might be useful for all those who want to design something Stranger Things inspired.
You can have a look at our popular 80s text effects bundle, where you can find exactly what you’re looking for if you want to go for Stranger Things Aesthetics (here you can also see the single text effect you need for ST artwork) . Have fun with them and see what you can create with these 80s retro-inspired resources!
